Wear lining Monitoring

real-time wear liner thickness data.

Contribute to the product

What is this product?

This is a sensor system (optical, static, ultrasonic) capable of automatically measuring the thickness of anti-wear wear linings on industrial equipment. It aims to extend equipment life and increase asset availability by monitoring material wear in real time, and transmitting data to the customer’s control systems for safe, proactive maintenance.

Private partners.

We’re really proud to be able to count on major partners for this project.

Kalenborn

For 100 years, Kalenborn has specialized in wear protection through the manufacture of specialized parts.

Int-Elle Corp.

Int-elle corporation offers fast, customized service to organizations in the iron industry. It specializes mainly in wear parts.

Rio TinTo - IOC

Rio Tinto – IOC is a North American producer and supplier of iron ore concentrate and pellets, with over 2,900 employees.

Solution features.

This project primarily addresses the challenges of increasing asset availability and reducing maintenance costs. The benefits of this project extend far beyond this. These include reduced downtime due to avoidable breakdowns; better management of coating inventory; and reduced risk of injury due to inspections in confined spaces or at height.

Measurement capture.

Multisensor solution for automated thickness measurement of various coatings. These sensors include an optical sensor, a static sensor and an ultrasonic sensor.

360° visual inspection.

Automation of confined-space equipment inspection with a 360° camera that records a video sequence and acquires LiDAR data.

Data transfer.

Closed-loop data transfer system for transferring data between a local server and the customer's designated management system.

Visualization of results.

Visualization of data on an existing platform providing a view of the variation in coating thickness degradation.

Backlog

Features.

// Manual data collection.

Using a phone's RFID function, it will be possible to collect data manually at any time.

// Interconnection to Stelar.

This asset integrity and reliability management platform is very useful for monitoring the health of all assets.

// Wear modeling.

By modeling wear on an asset, it will be possible to properly inform engineers for the design of future projects.

// Asset photogrammetry.

Automatic analysis of points of difference between a reference measurement and a current measurement using photogrammetry to detect maintenance requirements.
